Leverkusen fear Terrier setback after 18-minute exit in Lech Poznań rout
Terrier forced off early as Leverkusen cruise in Poland
Despite a routine 4-0 Europa League win over Lech Poznań, Bayer Leverkusen’s night in Poland was not without hardship. Making just his second start since returning from injury, Martin Terrier was forced off once again inside 18 minutes of action.
Fortunately for the Rhinelanders, Patrik Schick was the replacement as Leverkusen cruised to a comfortable victory. Now an MRI scan on Friday should bring clarity for Terrier.
Injury timeline and likely absences
According to Kicker, best case scenario, without any damage to the tendons, the versatile French forward is likely to be out for at least two weeks. If not only muscle fibres but also parts of the tendon structure are affected, the break would therefore be significantly longer.
It looks certain that Terrier will at least miss Leverkusen’s games with SC Freiburg, OFI Crete and TSG Hoffenheim in the coming days.
The 29-year-old has been short of luck in recent seasons. After suffering a ruptured Achilles tendon in 2024-25 and a lengthy hamstring setback last season, the latest blow comes as he was trying to regain regular minutes.
