Verstappen lands Singapore GP Driver of the Day after maiden Marina Bay win
Max Verstappen has been voted the star of the 2026 Singapore Grand Prix by fans, capping a flawless weekend at Marina Bay with his first-ever victory on the street circuit and a fifth straight Driver of the Day honour.
Marina Bay was the one current track the four-time World Champion had never conquered — until now. Verstappen was simply untouchable around the Singapore layout as he and a resurgent Red Bull powered to glory over Ferrari and Mercedes.
It was a superb weekend for Verstappen, who added race victory to his Sprint win after starting from P1 for both events. The four-time World Champion's Sprint success by 2.5 seconds was reported earlier on Saturday October 10, 2026, with Lewis Hamilton surging from P6 to P2 in the wet and Charles Leclerc taking P3 after surviving a last-lap McLaren collision.
Perhaps no surprise then that he secured your vote. Here's how the numbers broke down:
- Max Verstappen – 30.7%
- Charles Leclerc – 11.6%
- George Russell – 11.5%
- Kimi Antonelli – 8%
- Lewis Hamilton – 7.7%
Verstappen's 30.7% share of the vote underlined just how dominant his Singapore performance was, as Red Bull rediscovered their edge against the chasing pack of Ferrari and Mercedes.
