Racing Bulls to decide 2027 line-up in coming weeks, Permane says

Racing Bulls weigh three candidates for two seats

Racing Bulls will decide who drives for the team in 2027 “in the coming weeks,” team principal Alan Permane says, as the Faenza-based squad considers its current line-up alongside Red Bull junior Nikola Tsolov.

Permane said Racing Bulls were in no rush to settle the choice. The team has two drivers performing strongly, he said, while Tsolov has impressed in Formula 2 and is also in contention for an opportunity.

“Three doesn't fit into two, of course, and we're just going to take a little bit more time and make sure we get the right pairing for next year,” Permane said.

Lawson and rookie Lindblad have regularly scored points for Racing Bulls, helping the team reach fifth in the constructors’ standings. Lawson has scored 69 points, including 14 earned while substituting for Isack Hadjar at Red Bull, while Lindblad has collected 38, according to the report.

The decision is complicated by Racing Bulls’ role in developing young talent for the senior Red Bull team. Permane said pace would be a leading consideration, but the team would also assess each driver’s longer-term potential and prospects for progression.

“It's not just about the here and now, it's also about what they can do in the future,” Permane said.
