Arshdeep Singh Names Bhuvneshwar Kumar Top Indian Bowler, Leaves Out Bumrah

Arshdeep's Controversial Bowling Rankings Spark Debate

India's left-arm fast bowler Arshdeep Singh has stirred conversation among cricket fans after revealing his personal rankings of the top five Indian bowlers, with veteran seamer Bhuvneshwar Kumar earning the top spot while premier fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah was notably absent from the list.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar Takes Top Spot

Speaking on Krishnank Atrey's YouTube channel, Arshdeep admitted his selection was influenced by personal admiration for the veteran pacer. "Bhuvi bhai is at the top because he is my personal favourite as well. I really like him, so I'm a little biased," the Punjab Kings bowler explained.

He praised Bhuvneshwar's exceptional ability to control the new ball, a skill that has made the veteran one of India's most reliable death bowlers in limited-overs cricket.

Shami, Kuldeep, Chahal and Ashwin Complete the Five

Mohammed Shami secured the second position on Arshdeep's list, with the young pacer highlighting his seam bowling prowess. "At number two, I'd go with Shami bhai because, as you know, he can seam the ball on any wicket. His bowling is excellent, and he presents the seam perfectly," Arshdeep said.

The remaining three spots went to spinners:

  • Third: Kuldeep Yadav - credited for his rare left-arm chinaman bowling style
  • Fourth: Yuzvendra Chahal - praised for his excellent wicket-taking record and Punjab team connection
  • Fifth: Ravichandran Ashwin - jokingly placed last due to lack of positions

Arshdeep offered a lighthearted apology to Ashwin for placing him fifth, revealing the veteran off-spinner was his first IPL captain with Punjab. "I wouldn't want to rate Ash bhai last, but there were no positions left, so he comes in at number five. He is great, but Ash bhai was also my first captain in the IPL, Punjab. Sorry, Ash bhai, I'll personally message you," he added.

Instagram Feed Clearance Explained

During the same interaction, Arshdeep addressed speculation surrounding his Instagram account after fans noticed he had deleted all posts following the IPL season. The bowler endured a difficult campaign with Punjab Kings and faced criticism on social media over his performances.

He dismissed suggestions that the move was linked to online trolling, clarifying it was simply a personal choice to refresh his profile. "IPL had ended and I felt like cleaning things up, so I was properly clearing everything out," Arshdeep said.

"People make an issue out of it, asking why I removed the videos and what happened to Arshdeep's Instagram account, why he changed it overnight. But it's nothing like that, bro. I just felt like removing them, so I did. If I feel like it, I'll put them back. It's just about my mood. Whenever I feel like it, I post something."

Fans React to Rankings

The omission of Jasprit Bumrah from the top five has generated significant discussion among cricket enthusiasts, with many questioning how India's premier fast bowler across all formats failed to make Arshdeep's list. The rankings have sparked debates across social media platforms about what constitutes the best bowling skill sets in Indian cricket.
