Klopp says Tresoldi should make his international choice without pressure

Jürgen Klopp has urged Nicolo Tresoldi to take his time over which senior national team to represent, saying the debate should not become a burden for the Club Brugge striker.

Tresoldi’s hat-trick against Inter Milan a week ago drew fresh attention to his international future. Klopp praised the forward as a “world-class talent” but said the focus should remain on giving him space to make his own decision.

“There is no point putting pressure on the lad because of his decision about which national team he wants to play for,” Klopp said. He noted that Tresoldi is currently with the under-21 team and has time to consider what is best for his future.

“He has outstanding qualities, and we want to give him the peace and space he needs to make this important decision,” Klopp added.
