Verstappen tops F1 Fantasy watchlist as Alpine Mini-League launches for US and Mexico

Three weekends, three very different tests

Formula 1 heads to the Americas for three consecutive race weekends, and each poses a distinct question for F1 Fantasy managers. The Circuit of the Americas (COTA) "rewards drivers who can manage tyre life through its high-speed sweeps, with the uphill run to Turn 1 and the back straight offering two of the best overtaking opportunities of the triple header."

Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez in Mexico City sits above 2,200m, where "thin air strips downforce and strains cooling, placing a premium on grid position and reliability." Interlagos then "packs elevation change and a compact 4.3km (2.7-mile) lap into its first weekend without a Sprint since 2019." With three deadlines inside a fortnight, the Strategist urges managers to plan across all three rounds together and retain enough cost-cap flexibility to react.

Global League: P1 opens a 21-point gap

The global leaderboard has a new occupant at the summit. "P1 surged to the top of the global leaderboard with a well-timed 3x Boost, a play that returned 418 points for the weekend and opened a 21-point gap to the chasing pack." P2 "slipped back from the lead but also backed Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc, swayed by the pace both showed on Friday in Singapore," while P3 "took a chance on Isack Hadjar and his grid penalty, hunting the overtaking opportunities a recovery drive offers, but a retirement in the Sprint cut that ceiling short."

The top three line-ups look remarkably alike: Verstappen, Leclerc, Ollie Bearman, Nico Hulkenberg and Ferrari all featured in each. "Active driver management remains the common theme at the very top with most chips now used by these highly ranked teams."

Strategist watchlist: Verstappen the standout 2x Boost

Max Verstappen ($28.2m) arrives in Austin on back-to-back fantasy scores of 50 or more, built on victories in the Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia and the Singapore Grand Prix. He has claimed four Driver of the Day awards in a row, and a fifth at COTA would tie the record for consecutive wins in the category since its introduction in 2016 — a mark Verstappen set himself between Brazil 2025 and Australia 2026. He has also won four of the last five Grands Prix at COTA and finished on the podium in Mexico and Brazil in 2025, making him "the most compelling 2x Boost candidate for the next three rounds."

Charles Leclerc ($24.1m) has returned to form, scoring 33 fantasy points in the Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia before finishing inside the top three in every fantasy scoring session in Singapore. He sits second among all drivers for fastest laps this season with three, the most recent coming last time out. Leclerc won at COTA in 2024 and has stood on the podium in Mexico City in each of the last three years, though Interlagos remains the outlier — he has never finished on the podium there.

Liam Lawson ($9.9m) has secured back-to-back P7 finishes for 17.5 fantasy points per race and averages 12.1 fantasy points across the season. He needs only a single fantasy point in Austin for a maximum $0.6m price rise.

Nico Hulkenberg ($6.6m) posted a season-high 19 fantasy points in the Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia and followed it with 17 and a P8 in Singapore. Even a score of -12 in Austin would secure a seventh consecutive $0.6m rise, and he averages 1.66 fantasy points per $1m since Austria — the best value of any driver in that period.

Ollie Bearman ($6.4m) recorded 18 fantasy points in Singapore, his highest since China, with eight overtakes across the weekend. He averages 5.1 overtakes per race this season, and all three circuits rank inside the top 10 for average overtakes over the last three years. The Strategist also names Lewis Hamilton and Esteban Ocon as drivers to monitor.

Constructors: Red Bull and Ferrari in form

Red Bull ($32.7m) head to the Americas on back-to-back Grand Prix victories and recorded the fastest pit stop among all teams at each of the last two weekends, banking the five-point bonus on both. Through to Azerbaijan they had reached double digits for fast pit stop points only once all season, and have now done so in each of the last two weekends.

Ferrari ($28.2m) have posted 80 and 90 fantasy points in back-to-back weekends — the first time they have reached 80 in consecutive rounds this season — with the Singapore round returning 3.3 points per $1m, the best value of any constructor there. Fred Vasseur's team have put at least one car on the front row for the Grand Prix in each of the last three weekends, and 41% of players own them. Mercedes and Racing Bulls are the other constructors flagged to monitor.

Wildcard chip: the full-restructure tool

The Wildcard chip grants unlimited transfers for a single deadline without spending free transfers, making it the ideal tool for a full restructure. "Singapore drew a significant migration of players towards Ferrari. Yet Red Bull won both of the last two Grands Prix and took the fastest pit stop bonus at each, while Mercedes' Kimi Antonelli leads the Drivers' Championship, and rebuilding around that from a Ferrari-weighted squad is a multi-transfer job." Any transfer beyond the free allocation carries a 10-point penalty, whereas the Wildcard removes them entirely for one deadline. With three full practice sessions at each round, the chip lets managers react to practice pace and act on all of it.

Alpine Mini-League live across Austin and Mexico City

The latest F1 Fantasy mini-league is an Alpine special, running across both the United States and Mexico City rounds. First place receives a BWT Alpine Formula One Team 2026 mini helmet signed by Pierre Gasly, second takes a Mexico City Grand Prix special edition cap also signed by Gasly, and third receives an official Alpine team cap. The Limitless and 3x Boost chips are flagged as the best placed to deliver an advantage in this mini-league.

Managers must lock in teams before Qualifying begins in Austin at 1600 local (2100 UTC), in Mexico City at 1500 local (2100 UTC), and in São Paulo at 1500 local (1800 UTC). New players select five drivers and two constructors within a $100m starting cost cap.
