A New Challenge for the Four-Time World Champion

In one of the most anticipated events on the GT endurance calendar, Formula 1 star Max Verstappen is set to compete in the Nurburgring 24 Hours in Germany for the first time. The race, known for its grueling nature and the legendary Nordschleife circuit, sees Verstappen stepping away from the F1 paddock to test his mettle in a Mercedes-AMG GT3.

The Team and the Machine

Running under the Verstappen Racing banner, the Dutchman will be behind the wheel of a Mercedes-AMG GT3 uniquely decked out in Red Bull colors. Verstappen isn't tackling the 'Green Hell' alone; he is joined by a formidable crew of experienced teammates, including Jules Gounon, Dani Juncadella, and Lucas Auer, who will share driving duties throughout the 24-hour marathon.

This isn't Verstappen's first encounter with the Nordschleife this year. In March, he tasted victory in his first race at the circuit alongside Britain's Chris Lulham, though the win was short-lived as the team was subsequently disqualified for exceeding the permitted tyre allocation.

What to Expect

With a powerhouse lineup, Verstappen Racing enters the event as one of the favorites. However, the unpredictable nature of endurance racing remains a significant factor. The sheer scale of the event—featuring 161 cars on track simultaneously—means that chaos is always a possibility.

The action begins on Saturday with the live stream starting at 1:30 PM UK time, with the race officially getting underway at 2:00 PM. The event will conclude at 2:00 PM on Sunday.

Looking Ahead to F1

While Verstappen focuses on the Nurburgring, the Formula 1 circuit continues its journey, heading next to Montreal for the Canadian Grand Prix, which will feature another Sprint weekend from May 22-24.
