Teenage sensation keeps his grip on the title race

Kimi Antonelli has maintained his lead at the top of the 2026 Formula One drivers' standings, stretching clear of the chasing pack with 242 points after 12 rounds of the championship.

The Mercedes youngster has built a commanding 59-point cushion over his nearest rivals, with team-mate George Russell and Ferrari's Lewis Hamilton locked together on 183 points apiece behind him. Antonelli's consistency — including victories and podiums across Australia, China, Japan, Miami, Canada and Hungary — has been the story of the season so far.

Drivers' championship: the leading contenders

Behind the leading trio, Lando Norris sits fourth for McLaren on 159 points, with Ferrari's Charles Leclerc close behind on 155. Four-time world champion Max Verstappen has endured a tougher campaign with Red Bull, languishing sixth on 112 points, while McLaren's Oscar Piastri rounds out the top seven on 104.

The midfield battle is led by Red Bull's Isack Hadjar on 68 points, ahead of Racing Bulls' Liam Lawson (49) and Alpine's Pierre Gasly (44). Rookie Arvid Lindblad has impressed for Racing Bulls with 23 points, while Franco Colapinto (19, Alpine), Oliver Bearman (18, Haas) and Gabriel Bortoleto (10, Audi) complete the points scorers.

Notably, several established names remain without a point: Cadillac pairing Valtteri Bottas and Sergio Perez, Aston Martin's Lance Stroll, and Yuki Tsunoda of Racing Bulls have all yet to score in 2026.

Constructors: Mercedes in control

In the constructors' championship, Mercedes have consolidated their position at the summit with 425 points, a healthy 87-point lead over Ferrari on 338. McLaren sit third on 263, while Red Bull are fourth on 186 — a reflection of Verstappen's struggles relative to recent seasons.

Racing Bulls (66) and Alpine (63) lead the lower midfield, ahead of Haas (21), Audi (16) and Williams (11). Aston Martin have managed just three points, and debutants Cadillac are yet to score after 12 rounds.
