Jordan Pickford has joined an elite club of Premier League goalkeepers by recording his 100th clean sheet. The Everton No. 1 became only the 19th goalkeeper in Premier League history to keep 100 or more clean sheets, reaching the milestone as Everton earned a 0-0 draw at Tottenham on Saturday.

Pickford's landmark follows Liverpool's Alisson, who was the last goalkeeper prior to the Everton man to join the 100 club, securing his century of top-flight clean sheets during a 0-0 draw with Leeds on 1 January 2026.

Cech's record remains untouchable

While Pickford's century places him in rarefied company, nobody has come close to matching Petr Cech, whose 202 clean sheets for Chelsea and Arsenal remain the Premier League benchmark — a considerable 33 more than second-placed David James. The former Czech Republic international also holds the division's records for the highest percentage of clean sheets per games played (45.7%), the most consecutive clean sheets, and the fastest century, having reached 100 shut-outs in just 180 appearances.

Peter Schmeichel was the first goalkeeper to keep 100 Premier League clean sheets back in 1998, while Cech's single-season tally of 24 remains the most ever recorded in one campaign.

Who is next in line?

Newcastle's Nick Pope is the next Premier League player in line to reach the milestone, sitting on 80 clean sheets, but he is yet to feature this season after losing his number one spot in the team to Lukas Hornicek.

Former West Ham keeper Lukasz Fabianski came agonisingly close to hitting the hundred mark, only to spend the 2025-26 season sidelined with injury before retiring with 92 clean sheets to his name. Goalkeepers must play a full match to be credited with a clean sheet, so a place on the bench or a substitution does not count towards the tally.
