Kolo Muani's late header rescues Juventus point at Cagliari after Maldini opener
Maldini puts Cagliari ahead
Cagliari took the lead in the 20th minute against Juventus at the Unipol Domus. Daniel Maldini cut in from the right and his initial attempt was blocked back to him, before Paul Mendy held off a marker and returned the ball for Maldini to finish from close range — his fourth consecutive Serie A goal.
Juventus came to life in the second half. Elia Caprile had already saved from Edon Zhegrova before Randal Kolo Muani equalised from Kerim Alajbegovic's cross in the 81st minute, glancing the ball home at close range. It was Kolo Muani's first Serie A goal since returning to Juventus. Moments later, Juventus hit the crossbar and Caprile held Nick Woltemade's follow-up. The keeper then produced a brilliant stop from Muani's point-blank volley, though the forward was in an offside position. The game ended 1-1.

Spalletti had warned Juventus were learning
Ahead of the trip to Sardinia, Juventus manager Luciano Spalletti had insisted his side were "learning fast" after a setback at Sassuolo, saying: "Your love for the game has to show on the pitch, by passing on to those around you a serious approach and a constant drive for high standards."
Managers sent off after final whistle
Both managers were shown red cards after the final whistle for a post-game scuffle that was hard to parse. Cagliari's Fabio Pisacane and Juventus's Spalletti clasped hands at first, but Spalletti was shouting angry words from the start and appeared to react to the way Pisacane put a hand on his elbow, though none of the gestures looked violent in any obvious way.
Spalletti later said he had been praising Pisacane for his player's cleverness at time-wasting. Pisacane, for his part, seemed bemused, overheard asking: "What did I do?"
Pisacane said Juventus deserved at least the point they earned. Since taking charge, he has led Cagliari to six wins and a draw from their last eight matches, dating to last season — only Roma have picked up more points in that stretch.
