Club issues strong statement after online abuse
Barnet have condemned racial abuse targeted at midfielder Isiah Noel-Williams after the 23-year-old was sent off in their 1-1 draw with Oldham Athletic at the Hive.
Posting on X, the club shared a screengrab of a post on Noel-Williams’ Instagram account where a user had responded with a racist image following Saturday’s game.
“Barnet FC condemns in the strongest terms the racist abuse directed at Isiah Noel-Williams on Instagram following today’s game,” the club said in their statement.
“Isiah has our full and unwavering support. There is no place for racism in football, online or anywhere in society.”
Red card and late equaliser
Noel-Williams signed for League Two Barnet from National League South side Hemel Hempstead Town in the summer. The son of former Watford, Burnley and Stoke striker Gifton featured in Kettering Town’s FA Cup run in 2024.
He was sent off for a foul in the 70th minute at the Hive, with Oldham going on to score a 94th-minute equaliser to make it 1-1.
