Barcelona pair headline Nations League Player of the Round nominees
The shortlist of nominees for the UEFA Nations League Player of the Round award has been unveiled, and Spanish champions Barcelona feature prominently among the four candidates named.
Headlining the list is Blaugrana sensation Lamine Yamal, fresh off a standout performance in Spain's 3-2 victory over England. The teenage winger has been a central figure in Luis de la Fuente's side and continues to attract individual accolades at international level.
Also in the running is a player who departed Hansi Flick's squad on loan over the summer. After producing a number of fine stops across the 90 minutes against the Netherlands, Germany's Marc-André ter Stegen has been rewarded with a spot alongside Lamine on the four-man shortlist.

Elsewhere on the list, Real Madrid icon Luka Modrić, now of AC Milan, is nominated after finding the net at 41 years old in Croatia's victory over Czechia. Rounding out the candidates is Manchester City frontman Erling Haaland, who scored twice in a hard-fought Norway triumph over Denmark.
