Barcelona Youngster Olmedo Makes La Liga Move

Barcelona have confirmed the departure of promising defender Alexis Olmedo to Celta Vigo, bringing an end to the 20-year-old's 12-year stint with the Catalan giants.

Olmedo, who primarily operates as a centre-back but is also capable of filling in at right-back, has been on Barcelona's books since 2013. The Spanish defender honed his craft at the famed La Masia academy before progressing through the club's youth ranks.

However, entering a crucial phase in his development into a senior footballer, it became increasingly clear that Olmedo did not feature in the immediate plans of head coach Hansi Flick and his coaching staff.
