Red Bull confirm Laurent Mekies contract extension through 2031
Mekies commits to Red Bull through 2031
Red Bull have confirmed that Laurent Mekies will remain as team principal on a contract extended through to 2031, ending speculation over the Frenchman's future at the helm of the Milton Keynes squad.
Mekies, who took charge of the team, vowed that the squad's recent successes are just the start. "Only the beginning," he said of the team's recent wins, signalling ambition to build on momentum into the new regulatory cycle.
The extension has drawn public backing from Max Verstappen, Red Bull's lead driver, who endorsed the move as the team looks to consolidate its position among F1's leading outfits.
The confirmation, reported on October 14, 2026, comes ahead of the United States Grand Prix in Austin (October 23-25), where the team will look to translate its renewed stability into on-track results.
