Aston Villa sack manager Natalia Arroyo after winless start to WSL season
Aston Villa have sacked manager Natalia Arroyo following a disappointing and winless start to the Women's Super League campaign.

Villa have failed to secure a victory in their opening four league matches, registering two draws and two defeats. The hierarchy decided to make a change following a heavy 4-0 defeat against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.
Arroyo was informed of the club's decision on Monday evening, with the playing squad notified on Tuesday morning. Former Everton manager Brian Sorensen, who currently serves as Villa's women's technical advisor, has been placed in interim charge ahead of their Women's League Cup fixture against Newcastle United.
The Spanish coach arrived at Villa in January 2025 and had two years remaining on her contract. While she initially helped steer the side away from relegation danger during her first six months, Villa struggled for consistency despite significant transfer market backing. Arroyo becomes the first managerial departure of the current WSL season.
