Mumbai had earlier posted 429, with Tanush Kotian and Mohit Avasthi making half-centuries. Captain Siddhesh Lad, Shams Mulani and Deshpande also contributed, before the innings gave way to a decisive spell from the Mumbai bowlers.

Wadkar falls just short of a double century

Akshay Wadkar narrowly missed a maiden first-class double hundred, dismissed two runs short as Vidarbha took their total to 428 against Puducherry. Yash Rathod had made 134 earlier in the innings.

There were major contributions elsewhere. Prerak Mankad scored 129 and Ravindra Jadeja 102 as Saurashtra reached 392 against Chhattisgarh; Dharmendrasinh Jadeja dismissed his former state-mate Ravindra Jadeja. Baroda declared at 472 for eight against Goa after Atit Sheth was bowled for 99 and several teammates added half-centuries.

Uttar Pradesh extended their grip on Bihar, reaching 540. Overnight centurions Madhav Kaushik and Rinku Singh added 150 and 112 respectively before Aaradhya Yadav and Zeeshan Ansari strengthened the total with half-centuries.

Centuries lift Bengal and Jharkhand

In Kalyani, Sudip Kumar Gharami and Abishek Porel put on an unbeaten 199-run partnership, both reaching centuries as Bengal moved into the lead over Delhi at 304 for three. Jharkhand also took command against Kerala: Aditya Singh made 147 and captain Virat Singh scored a determined 108 in a total of 587 at Jamshedpur.

Assam’s Denish Das and Sibsankar Roy each struck a century to frustrate Punjab, with Swarupam Purkayastha adding a brisk 66 before Assam were dismissed close to 400. In another recovery, Akash Vasisht’s unbeaten 113 helped Himachal Pradesh rebuild after slipping to 119 for seven against Haryana.

Debut hundred and late resistance keep matches alive

SV Rahul marked his first-class debut, two days after turning 19, with a hundred for Andhra. He and wicketkeeper Revanth Reddy helped the side recover against Karnataka and finish the day with a lead of 57.

Tamil Nadu began their reply to Rajasthan’s 363 with a 104-run stand between Narayan Jagadeesan and Pradosh Ranjan Paul, though neither converted a half-century. Rajasthan had earlier lost five wickets for 16 runs after Mahipal Lomror’s 66.

Elsewhere, captain Kishan Lyngdoh made 78 for Meghalaya before Swastic Chettri’s unbeaten 72 took them to within seven runs of Sikkim’s first-innings total. Avneesh Sudha (75 not out) and Jagadeesha Suchith’s quick half-century left Uttarakhand 18 runs short of parity with Railways, while Kangabam Priyojit Singh’s 87 rescued Manipur from 39 for five and helped secure a 68-run lead over Mizoram.

Bowling spells reshape the contests

Tripura offspinner Sandip Sarkar claimed eight wickets after sending down 41.2 overs, but Hyderabad still established a lead of 160 before taking seven wickets to move closer to an innings victory. Avesh Khan took three wickets as Madhya Pradesh bowled defending champions Jammu and Kashmir out for 120, with Aryan Pandey helping clean up the tail to secure a 76-run lead. For Mizoram, Khiangte Vanrotlinga’s five-wicket haul struck Manipur’s top order.
