Abhishek Sharma on the rise as Bumrah rejoins the T20I top 10

India opener Abhishek Sharma has climbed past Pakistan's Sahibzada Farhan in the latest ICC men's T20I rankings, adding another layer to the rivalry between the two teams' explosive top-order batters.

India's bowlers have cause for celebration too, with pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah breaking into the top 10 of the T20I bowling rankings — a reminder of his rare ability to dominate across every format.

There was history in the women's rankings as well, with India spinner Shree Charani becoming the first Indian to cross the 800-point mark, a milestone that cements her rapid rise to the elite tier of the women's game.

With a Test series, an Asian Games campaign and plenty of bilateral cricket ahead, India's presence at the top of both the men's and women's rankings looks set to be tested — and, on current form, defended.
