Schalke rule out Moussa Sylla indefinitely with left leg injury
Schalke confirm injury blow as Sylla faces extended absence
FC Schalke 04 have confirmed that key attacking option Moussa Sylla will be sidelined indefinitely after suffering a left leg injury during the club's 1-2 defeat to SC Freiburg.
According to the Gelsenkirchen outfit, medical tests conducted on the 26-year-old revealed the extent of the damage, ruling him out for the foreseeable future. "The striker has been sidelined indefinitely with an injury to his leg," the club confirmed.

Sylla has featured in four of Schalke's five Bundesliga matches this campaign but is still searching for his first Bundesliga goal or assist. The setback means he will have to wait even longer to open his account for the Royal Blues.
Schalke announced that the striker will be unavailable for the time being after the medical examinations were completed, providing no timetable for his return.
The injury also guarantees Sylla's absence when Schalke host Mainz 05 this Saturday, depriving coach and supporters of a forward who had begun to establish himself in the starting picture despite his wait for a first direct contribution in the league.
