Hibs Ban Block Seven Ultras From Three Matches After Tannadice Disorder

Hibs Come Down Hard on Block Seven

Hibernian have banned their Block Seven supporter group from the club's next three matches after pictures emerged showing visiting fans clashing with police and stewards in the away end at Tannadice on Saturday.

The disorder overshadowed head coach Marink Reedijk's first match in charge, with Hibs suffering defeat to Dundee United in the Scottish Premiership.

Three-Match Sanction Confirmed

The club announced the punishment on Monday, following an initial investigation into the scenes that unfolded in the away section.

"Following initial investigations, Hibernian Football Club can confirm that the Block Seven supporter group has been banned from our next three fixtures - against Falkirk and Celtic at Easter Road and away to St Mirren," a club statement read.

"The club has discussed this sanction with the SPFL [Scottish Professional Football League]. This three-match sanction follows a one-match ban issued as a result of an incident occurring earlier this season."

Hibs had signalled their intent to act earlier in the week, saying they would "take appropriate action as necessary" once they had "establish[ed] the full circumstances" surrounding the events at Tannadice.

Investigation Ongoing as Police Charge 10 More

The Easter Road club stressed that its inquiry is not yet closed and that further punishments - individual or collective - remain on the table.

"The club's investigation into the events at Tannadice is ongoing and we will continue to work with supporters, Police Scotland and Dundee United FC," the statement continued.

"Further action, including additional sanctions on an individual and/or collective basis, will be considered once that process is complete."

The announcement landed on the same day Police Scotland revealed that a further 10 people had been charged in connection with disorder following Hibs' match away to St Johnstone last month, underlining the scale of the crowd-control problems shadowing the club's away following.

Club Vows to Protect Matchday Safety

Hibs framed the ban as part of a wider commitment to keeping supporters safe on matchdays.

"The safety and well-being of every supporter who attends our matches is a top priority for the football club. No-one should feel unsafe or uncomfortable when supporting Hibernian and behaviour that puts others at risk is unacceptable," the club said.

"We thank our supporters for their continued backing and want to reassure them that the club will continue to address unacceptable conduct so as to not undermine the experience of the wider Hibs support."
