Barcelona and Real Madrid target Brighton defender Luka Vušković
La Liga giants circle Brighton centre-back
Spanish football’s two leading clubs have earmarked a member of Brighton & Hove Albion’s defensive ranks as a potential signing for the future, with Luka Vušković emerging on the transfer radars of both Barcelona and Real Madrid.
The 19-year-old Croatian stopper completed a big-money summer move from Tottenham to Brighton and has responded with a strong start to life on the south coast. From his berth at the heart of the Seagulls’ backline, Vušković has showcased why he has long been tipped as a potential future star, excelling on both sides of the ball.
Vušković has featured from the off in all six of Brighton’s Premier League fixtures this season, a run that has already attracted attention at the top of La Liga.
Interest from Camp Nou and the Bernabéu
According to a report from Fichajes, amid respective searches for reinforcements at the heart of defence:
“Real Madrid are among those interested. Barcelona have also re-entered the picture to sign him.”
The report suggests the interest is being monitored for a potential move next summer, with both clubs assessing defensive options for the future.
Brighton are expected to resist any approach in the short term. The Seagulls would be expected to demand nothing short of a monumental sum to part with their defensive gem as soon as next summer.
