Laporta praises Fabregas but backs Flick amid Barcelona return talk
Laporta lauds Fabregas’s work at Como
Barcelona president Joan Laporta has praised Cesc Fabregas amid speculation that the former midfielder could one day return to Camp Nou as a manager, but made clear the club are content with Hansi Flick in charge.
“Cesc is doing a great job. I really like his mentality,” Laporta told Corriere della Sera. “He knows the Barcelona philosophy very well and has also brought it to Como. We play in a similar way, the style is that.”

Laporta also welcomed the prospect of Barcelona facing Como in the Champions League, describing the Italian club as one that is growing and has “high-level players.”
President says Barcelona are happy with Flick
Asked directly about the possibility of Fabregas returning to Barcelona, Laporta dismissed the suggestion as an immediate prospect: “No no, we are happy with our coach, we love him and he is giving us great satisfaction.”
Flick is contracted to Barcelona until 2028. Fabregas, meanwhile, is enjoying his spell as Como’s head coach and reportedly has a contractual clause that could allow him to return to Camp Nou if Barcelona make an approach.
