The Athletic's NWSL hub lists rare rookie cards for Nighswonger, Reale and Tullis-Joyce

The Athletic gathers NWSL news and a women's soccer memorabilia market in one place

The Athletic's National Women's Soccer League landing page — headlined "NWSL News - Results, Standings, Scores, Stats, and Rumors" — brings together coverage of the league alongside a growing marketplace for women's soccer collectibles.

Among the cards listed on the page are several rare and graded items tied to current and former stars of the U.S. game:

Briana Scurry — a 2000 Upper Deck UD Women's Major League Soccer USWNT #88 rookie card, graded PSA 10, priced at $274.99.
Jenna Nighswonger — a 2023 Parkside NWSL Pronto Week 6 Gold Rookie #35, a 1-of-1 card for NJ/NY Gotham, listed at $214.99.
Lilly Reale — a 2025 Parkside Keepr NWSL Rookie of the Year autographed award card, numbered 1/12 for Gotham, at $224.99.
Phallon Tullis-Joyce — a 2022 Parkside NWSL Challenge Cup autographed card numbered /100 from her OL Reign days, priced at $299.99.

The listings highlight a memorabilia market that has steadily built around the NWSL and its players, with rookie autographs and graded rookie cards commanding three-figure prices.

The hub also promotes "Connections: Soccer Edition," a daily puzzle from The Athletic that asks readers to group soccer terms sharing a common thread.

The NWSL page follows a similar approach to The Athletic's Women's Super League coverage. On October 1, 2026, the outlet launched a WSL hub combining fixtures, results, live standings and ticket links, and noted a "thriving WSL trading-card market" headlined by Arsenal and England star Leah Williamson.
