F1 Fantasy strategist preview for the Dutch Grand Prix

F1 Fantasy: Dutch GP strategist preview

Formula 1 returns from the summer break to a Sprint weekend at Zandvoort. The banked corners and Orange Army create a tight, undulating layout that rewards grid position, with rain a genuine threat on the coast. The extra Sprint session gives F1 Fantasy managers an additional scoring opportunity.

Global league update

P1 on the global leaderboard used the Final Fix chip in Hungary to swap Kimi Antonelli for Lando Norris on their 2x Boost after Qualifying, gaining 12 extra fantasy points. P2 and P3 held firm with Antonelli despite a three-place grid penalty and were rewarded as he recovered on Sunday. Mercedes and Ferrari remain the constructor backbone for top teams, supported by a rotating midfield core of Racing Bulls and Audi drivers.

Watchlist

Lando Norris $26.1m – arrives fresh off his first win of the season and 37 fantasy points in Hungary, averaging 38.3 points across his last three weekends. He won Zandvoort in 2024 and is a prime 2x Boost candidate with the Sprint adding a scoring session.

Kimi Antonelli $25.7m – leads F1 Fantasy this season averaging 39.0 points per race. He has scored over 40 points in three of four Sprints this season and offers value versus Norris as a 2x Boost alternative and 3x Boost option.

Gabriel Bortoleto $7.8m – on a run of nine consecutive race finishes in an improving Audi. He needs just 10 points for a maximum price rise and averages more than 11 points over his last three Grands Prix.

Lance Stroll $3.0m – scored 15 points in Hungary with double-digit scores in three of four finishes. Honda brings a power unit update to the Netherlands after a car upgrade at the Hungaroring.

Nico Hulkenberg $3.0m – a price-floor enabler delivering 13 points over the last two weekends, best value on the grid at 2.17 points per $1m spent. He needs -2 points for a maximum $0.6m price rise.

Other drivers to monitor: Max Verstappen and Fernando Alonso.

Constructors

Mercedes $32.6m – dominant in F1 Fantasy 2026 with 70+ points in nine of 11 races, averaging 7.9 fast pit stop points per race and Q3 appearances for both drivers in all 11 races.

Ferrari $26.6m – off back-to-back 71-point hauls with both drivers inside the top five in each of the last three Grands Prix. Consistency and grid position at Zandvoort make them a natural second constructor alongside Mercedes.

Chip strategy

The Sprint format makes Zandvoort ideal for deploying the 3x Boost chip. Running two drivers from top teams such as Norris and Antonelli, or Max Verstappen who has finished inside the top two in the last five Grands Prix at his home circuit, amplifies every point across the extra session.

Teams lock before Sprint begins at 1200 local time, 1000 UTC, on Saturday 22 August. New players can join free-to-play by selecting five drivers and two constructors within a $100m cap.
