Brar warned for breaching ICC's Code of Conduct
Indian Cricketer Gurnoor Brar Faces ICC Sanction
India's fast bowler Gurnoor Brar has been issued a formal warning and one demerit point for violating the ICC's Code of Conduct during the first One Day International (ODI) between England and India at Edgbaston. The incident, which occurred in the eighth over of England's innings, saw Brar throw a ball in an inappropriate and dangerous manner toward batter Ben Duckett.
According to the ICC, Brar was found guilty under Article 2.9, which prohibits actions that endanger players. The on-field umpires Kumar Dharmasena and Mike Burns, along with third umpire Sam Nogajski and fourth official Russell Warren, levied the charge. The match referee, Richie Richardson, proposed the sanction, which Brar admitted and accepted, avoiding a formal hearing.
As per Cricbuzz’s report: "7.5 Gurnoor Brar to Ben Duckett, no run, fuller length delivery outside off - Duckett leans across and inside halves the drive back at the bowler - Gurnoor collects the ball and then throws it back at the batter, missing Duckett by a whisker."
