Europe's elite queue up for Mexico's teenage star

Liverpool are monitoring Club Tijuana's teenage midfielder Gilberto Mora, according to Teamtalk, although they are not alone: Borussia Dortmund and Benfica are also keen on the 17-year-old Mexico star.

Mora's numbers this season explain the attention. The midfielder has five goals and one assist in seven Liga MX appearances for Tijuana in the 2026-27 campaign, according to FotMob data published on 30 September — a striking return for a player still only 17.

Liverpool, Dortmund and Benfica have all built reputations for developing young talent, and the race for Mora is likely to intensify as the teenager continues to catch the eye in Mexico's top flight.
