Guardian launches Moving the Goalposts: new twice-weekly women's football newsletter
The Guardian has thrown its weight behind women's football with a brand-new free email newsletter, Moving the Goalposts, giving readers a twice-weekly roundup of the sport's biggest stories, trends and talking points from around the globe.
The newsletter promises to be "informative, entertaining, global, critical – when needed – and, above all, passionate," according to the launch announcement, as the Guardian deepens its coverage of a sport that continues to surge in popularity and profile.
Written mainly by journalists Júlia Belas Trindade and Sophie Downey, each edition will be delivered free to subscribers' inboxes twice a week, with regular guest appearances from some of the biggest names in the women's game.
Star names join the roster
Readers can expect guest contributions from stars such as former England international Anita Asante, Ballon d'Or-winning striker Ada Hegerberg, and Chelsea defender Magdalena Eriksson, among many more, offering expert insight from inside the dressing room and beyond.
"Join us as we delve deeper into the wonderful world of women's football in our weekly newsletter. It is informative, entertaining, global, critical – when needed – and, above all, passionate."
A growing family of sports emails
The launch comes alongside the Guardian's wider suite of sports newsletters. As well as the occasionally funny football email The Fiver from Monday to Friday, there are weekly catch-ups for cricket in The Spin and rugby union in The Breakdown, plus The Recap, the Guardian's seven-day roundup of the best of its sports journalism.
For readers in Australia, the Guardian Australia team offers its own daily sports newsletter, ensuring fans across time zones can keep pace with the action.
Readers can sign up now to have the latest women's football news and analysis delivered straight to their inboxes, twice a week, free of charge.
