Angkrish Raghuvanshi returns to Mumbai squad after recovering from finger surgery

Kolkata Knight Riders batter Angkrish Raghuvanshi is set to return to competitive action after recovering from a finger injury that required surgery. The 22-year-old has been included in Mumbai's squad for the upcoming Dr (Capt) K Thimmappiah Memorial Trophy 2026-27 (KSCA Invitational Tournament).

Angkrish Raghuvanshi in action

Raghuvanshi suffered a fracture to a finger on his left hand during IPL 2026, where he finished as KKR's top run-scorer with 422 runs in 13 matches, including five half-centuries. The injury forced him to undergo surgery in London and miss the T20 Mumbai League in June.

Speaking on the squad selection, Mumbai chief selector Rajesh Pawar confirmed Raghuvanshi's readiness while sharing an update on fellow youngster Ayush Mhatre, who is still recovering from a hamstring injury at the BCCI Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru.

"Angkrish is fit now. Ayush’s injury will take some more time to heal," Pawar stated.

Squad Details and Promising Additions

The Mumbai squad for the red-ball pre-season tournament will be captained by batter Suved Parkar. The lineup features all-rounder Suryansh Shedge alongside promising fast bowler Karthik Kumar, 16, who has earned his maiden call-up to the Mumbai senior team following an impressive showing on the MCA President’s XI tour of England.

Pacer Onkar Tarmale and top-order batter Divyaansh Saxena—who topped the scoring charts in this year's T20 Mumbai League with 261 runs at a strike rate of 190—have also been named in the contingent.
