Croatia goalkeeper Dominik Livaković has landed in Barcelona to complete his move to the Camp Nou, with the 31-year-old set to undergo a medical and put pen to paper on a long-term contract.

The stopper was spotted arriving in the city on Tuesday afternoon after Barcelona wrapped up negotiations with parent club Fenerbahçe over the last 48 hours. According to reports from Mundo Deportivo, he is scheduled to complete his medical at the club on Wednesday before signing a contract that runs until 2030.

Barcelona will pay around €4 million for the experienced Croatian international, with an initial €2m fee plus another €2m in add-ons. Livaković had fallen out of favour at Fenerbahçe owing to the presence of former Manchester City standout Ederson.

The deal carries a degree of uncertainty over exactly where the goalkeeper will fit in Hansi Flick's squad. Barcelona initially planned to loan Livaković to Dinamo Zagreb this season and bring him back next season, once Wojciech Szczęsny's contract expires. However, more recent reports suggest he could instead remain at the club this season as immediate back-up to new signing Joan García, with Szczęsny potentially dropping to third choice.

Much may depend on Barcelona's financial situation and whether there is room on the wage bill to accommodate all three custodians this term. Whatever the case, Livaković's arrival marks the latest piece of business in a busy summer for the Blaugrana as they reshape their goalkeeping department with an eye to the future.
