Barça dig in as PSG circle

Ferran Torres' future has become the hottest topic at Barcelona, with Paris Saint-Germain reportedly ready to test the waters with a formal offer for the World Cup winner. But according to fresh reports from Mundo Deportivo's Fernando Polo, the Catalan club's position is emphatic: Torres is not for sale.

Barcelona rate the forward highly across the sporting department and coaching staff, and sources suggest the club would like to open discussions over a contract extension as early as next month. PSG manager Luis Enrique, who knows Torres well from their time together in the Spain setup, is understood to be keen on bringing the attacker to the Parc des Princes, and the interest is described as serious.

Yet despite the noise, Barça's stance remains firmly anchored in retaining the forward. The club would only consider a sale if two conditions were met: Torres himself requests a departure, and PSG meet the asking price, which has not yet been disclosed.

The player remains on vacation in the wake of the World Cup, and his camp have stayed silent in recent days despite the swirling speculation. PSG, for their part, would prefer to move quickly and have the former Manchester City man in the squad as soon as he returns from his break.
