Pukki is Finland’s men’s all-time top scorer, with 43 goals in 133 appearances. His 133 caps are the second-highest total in the country’s history. He retired from international football last year.

His most celebrated club spell came at Norwich, where he scored 88 goals in 210 appearances between 2018 and 2023. He helped the Canaries win promotion to the Premier League twice and ranks fourth on the club’s all-time scoring list. Pukki also won two Championship titles and two Norwich player-of-the-season awards.

“I’ve gained a lot more from football than I ever dreamed of when I was a little boy,” Pukki wrote on Instagram.

“It hasn’t always been fun or I haven’t been able to enjoy it, but the love for football has remained - always. Big thanks to the great clubs and their fans.”

Pukki joined Norwich on a free transfer in 2018. His partnership with Emi Buendia became a defining feature of the club’s successful seasons, with then-head coach Daniel Farke describing the connection as “magical”.

His career also included spells at Schalke, Brondby and Minnesota United. He scored nine goals in 38 appearances for Celtic between 2013 and 2015 before establishing himself as a Norwich favourite.
