Ivan Toney strikes hat-trick as Al-Ahli crush Abha 4-0
Ivan Toney produced a masterclass in clinical finishing as he netted his first hat-trick of the Saudi Pro League season to guide Al-Ahli to a commanding 4-0 victory over newly promoted Abha at Alinma Bank Stadium at King Abdullah Sport City.

The England striker wasted little time putting the hosts in control, opening the scoring after just five minutes with a composed finish into the bottom-right corner following a precise pass from Eduard Spertsyan. Al-Ahli doubled their advantage eight minutes later when Galeno was brought down inside the penalty area by Jurien Gaari, allowing Toney to step up and calmly convert from the spot.
Abha attempted to find a route back into the contest before the interval, but Loreintz Rosier sent a long-range effort over the crossbar and Abdou Diallo saw his header from inside the six-yard box saved by the Al-Ahli goalkeeper.
Any hopes of an Abha comeback were extinguished early in the second half. Trincao opened his goalscoring account for Al-Ahli in breathtaking style, dispossessing an opponent before unleashing a sensational long-range strike into the top-right corner.
The Portuguese winger then turned provider in the 57th minute, setting up Toney to claim the match ball with a fierce near-post strike after the England international had earlier missed an opportunity to complete his treble with a chipped effort.
Toney's Pro League Record
Al-Ahli thoroughly dominated proceedings, racking up 2.77 expected goals (xG) from 16 attempts, with Toney accounting for 1.93 xG across five shots. Toney became the second player to score a hat-trick in the Saudi top flight this season, following Moussa Dembele's treble against Al-Riyadh on the opening matchday.
The treble marked Toney's sixth hat-trick in the competition since moving to Saudi Arabia—the most of any player in that period. In Saudi Pro League history, only Abderrazak Hamdallah (11) and Omar Al Somah (nine) have recorded more hat-tricks.
The resounding victory maintains Al-Ahli's perfect 100% start to the league campaign under manager Marino Pusic, who took charge following Matthias Jaissle's departure to Newcastle United.
