Gabriel Jesus was tipped for first Barcelona start against Getafe
Jesus emerged as a possible replacement for Raphinha
Gabriel Jesus was reportedly in contention for his first Barcelona start in the club’s scheduled meeting with Getafe, after making an early impression in limited minutes following his late-summer move from Arsenal.
The report, citing Diario Sport, said Hansi Flick was weighing whether to rest Raphinha after the Brazilian left international duty early with a muscular problem. Jesus was identified as the leading candidate to take his place, ahead of young forward Hamza Abdelkarim.
Jesus had scored twice in 41 minutes on the pitch for Barcelona, according to the report. It presented a potential starting opportunity, not a confirmed team selection.
