Historic First Tour for South Africa Women

South Africa Women are set to embark on their maiden tour of Zimbabwe, marking a significant milestone in women's cricket between the two neighboring nations. Zimbabwe Cricket has confirmed that the historic series will be held later this year, featuring five T20 Internationals scheduled for September 2026.

The matches will take place at the Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo, providing cricket fans in Zimbabwe with an exciting opportunity to witness top-tier international women's cricket on home soil.

First Senior-Level Meeting Since 2017

This upcoming series will represent the first meeting between South Africa Women and Zimbabwe Women at the senior level since they faced each other twice during a quadrangular series in South Africa in May 2017. The encounter promises to be a compelling contest between one of the powerhouse teams of world cricket and an emerging Zimbabwe side.

Zimbabwe Women recently hosted UAE Women in a home series in September-October 2025 and have since toured New Zealand and Pakistan, gaining valuable international exposure.

Zimbabwe Women's Recent Form

The upcoming series comes at a challenging time for Zimbabwe Women, who had a poor outing in the global women's T20 World Cup qualifier earlier this year in Nepal. The team failed to qualify for the main tournament that kicks off in England next month.

Despite this setback, Zimbabwe Cricket remains committed to providing their players with high-quality opposition to help develop their skills and competitive edge.
