Gianluca Rocchi resigns from AIA to keep DAZN pundit role
Rocchi chooses DAZN role over AIA membership
Former Serie A and Serie B referee chief Gianluca Rocchi has resigned from the Italian Referees’ Association (AIA), according to a report by GianlucaDiMarzio.com citing Calvar.it.
Rocchi submitted his resignation on Saturday after beginning a regular pundit role on DAZN, where he analyses refereeing decisions. AIA rules restrict members from making public comments about active officials, making the television role incompatible with his association membership. Previously, Rocchi had needed individual permission from the AIA for each TV appearance.

Investigations into VAR allegations closed
The resignation follows the closure of investigations that had put Rocchi under scrutiny over alleged interference in the VAR room at Lissone. He had suspended himself from his role while prosecutors in Milan investigated alleged complicity in sporting fraud.
The criminal investigation was dropped, and on October 1 the FIGC federal prosecutor closed the sporting case with the backing of CONI’s sports prosecutor general. Italian reports said investigators found no evidence of direct contact, including by telephone, between Rocchi and club officials.
