Alex Albon has joined an elite group of only 26 drivers to complete 100 race starts with a single constructor, marking his centenary with Williams at the Hungarian Grand Prix. The milestone comes as Albon continues to lead the British team's efforts to return to the midfield.

A Journey of Resilience

Albon's path to 100 races with Williams was paved by his time as Red Bull's reserve driver in 2021. Performance coach Patrick Harding noted that the period was "absolutely integral" to Albon's growth, allowing him to develop a deeper technical understanding of the cars.

Since joining Williams in 2022, Albon has become the face of the team's resurgence, earning the nickname "Tire Whisperer." However, the 2026 season has been difficult, with Williams currently sitting eighth in the constructors' championship.

The Road to Baku

The Hungarian GP highlighted the car's weaknesses, particularly its wind sensitivity and high-speed stability. Albon expressed shared frustration with the team, stating, "I feel the pain of this year just as much as anyone else."

Williams is now pinning its hopes on a significant "B-spec" upgrade package arriving in Baku. While Albon remains optimistic about the team's direction, he admitted doubt that the updates would fully close the gap to rivals like Aston Martin, noting, "If it's cured by Baku, I doubt it."
