J&K bowled out for 260 by Vidarbha; Baroda and MP struggle in Ranji Trophy openers
J&K bowled out for 260; Baroda and MP in early trouble
Defending champions Jammu & Kashmir were bowled out for 260 in 82.5 overs after Vidarbha elected to field in their Ranji Trophy Elite Group A fixture, leaving the title-holders with work to do to secure a first-innings advantage.
Vidarbha will begin their reply on the second day with a genuine chance to seize the lead, having restricted the defending champions to a modest total on a day when the J&K batting failed to build a substantial partnership.
Baroda edge ahead after Bihar fold for 166
In another Group A contest, Bihar were dismissed for 166 in 53 overs, and Baroda reached 77 for three in reply at stumps on the opening day. Bihar will look to make early inroads into the Baroda batting on day two to stay in the contest after posting their first-innings total.
MP trail Puducherry by 154 after top-order wobble
Madhya Pradesh were left chasing the game after Puducherry were bowled out for 177 in 65.2 overs. In reply, MP managed only 23 for two in 20 overs at stumps, trailing by 154 runs. The side will need a substantial partnership on the second day to eat into the deficit and draw level with Puducherry's total.
