Frattesi chose Lazio over Juventus in summer move, report says

Davide Frattesi will face Juventus this weekend after reportedly turning down an offer from the Turin club during the summer transfer window and opting instead to return to Lazio, the side where he grew up.

According to TuttoMercatoWeb, Juventus tried to bring the midfielder to Turin during the window. Frattesi chose Lazio, where he was expected to have a larger role at the Stadio Olimpico. He has since become an important figure in the Biancocelesti midfield.

A familiar opponent

The decision adds an extra storyline to a meeting between two teams pursuing positions near the top of the Serie A table. Frattesi has already scored against Juventus: as recalled by Il Messaggero, he opened the scoring in Sassuolo’s 2-1 victory in Turin in October 2021. He has described that goal as one of the most emotional of his career.

Now representing his boyhood club, Frattesi will have the chance to trouble Juventus again.
