Myles Lewis-Skelly delivered a composed performance in Arsenal's penalty shoot-out victory over Como, providing a timely reminder of his quality amid mounting speculation over his future and growing competition in the Gunners' midfield.

The teenager has been the subject of plenty of speculation this week, with rumours suggesting he has been offered to Arsenal's Premier League rivals Manchester United and Chelsea.

There could be a fear of the youngster dropping down in Mikel Arteta's pecking order in midfield following Arsenal's reported acquisition of Guimaraes, but Lewis-Skelly's composed finish against Como demonstrated why he should be confident of pushing for a place in the starting line-up.

His 33rd-minute strike broke the deadlock at Emirates Stadium when he headed on for Gabriel Martinelli after a defensive mix-up, with the Brazilian cushioning the ball back for Lewis-Skelly to apply a neat finish.

The teenager had the joint-most shots for the Gunners (two), while he completed all 22 of his attempted passes, making him just one of two Arsenal players to register a 100% passing accuracy, along with Noni Madueke.
