Bardghji defiant after second ACL surgery: 'The road back starts now'

Bardghji sends defiant message after second ACL operation

Roony Bardghji has sent a positive and determined message to Barcelona supporters after undergoing surgery on a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee, an injury that is expected to keep him sidelined for most of the season.

Roony Bardghji in Barcelona action

The young forward, who had been expected to leave the club before the close of the transfer window, sustained the serious knee injury in training and has now gone under the knife. It is a particularly cruel blow for the 19-year-old, who was already facing an uncertain future at the Camp Nou.

Despite the setback, Bardghji appears in defiant mood. “The road back starts now,” was the message from the forward from his hospital bed, a clear signal of his determination to fight through another lengthy rehabilitation.

Barcelona have confirmed that the operation was a success in an official statement on the club’s website, offering clarity on the procedure and the medical team involved.

“First-team player Roony Bardghji has successfully undergone surgery for a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee. The procedure was performed at Hospital de Barcelona by Dr Joan Carles Monllau, under the supervision of the FC Barcelona Medical Services.”

It is expected that Bardghji will be out for at least six months as he recovers from what is a second ACL operation. The lengthy layoff represents a significant blow for a player who had been tipped for a bright future at Barcelona, and it will complicate any potential departure plans for the troubled forward as he now faces a long road back to full fitness.
