Turkish FA bans 147 club officials for betting-rule breaches
147 officials suspended after betting inquiry
The Turkish Football Federation (TFF) has banned 147 football club officials for 45 days after finding they breached rules prohibiting people in football from betting.
Among those suspended is Trabzonspor president Ertugrul Dogan. The officials held posts at clubs in Turkey’s top two divisions during the past five years and will be barred from carrying out football duties while their bans are in force.

301 cases cleared of disciplinary action
The decisions follow an investigation announced in September, when 448 people were provisionally suspended and referred to the TFF’s professional football disciplinary board over allegations that they had placed bets while holding office.
The federation said there were insufficient grounds to take disciplinary action in the other 301 cases. TFF regulations, like those of Fifa and Uefa, prohibit match officials, players and coaches from participating in betting activities.
The latest sanctions form part of a wider crackdown by Turkish football authorities. In November 2025, the TFF imposed bans on 149 referees and 1,204 players following a separate investigation.
