Daaryoush Ahmed extends Gloucestershire contract until end of 2027

Ahmed commits future to his hometown club

Gloucestershire have confirmed that all-rounder Daaryoush 'Daz' Ahmed has extended his contract with the club until the end of 2027, tying the Bristol-born 26-year-old to the County Ground beyond the current season.

Ahmed, who made his debut for the club in 2025, has played 23 times for Gloucestershire across all three formats and has produced his most telling contributions this year with both bat and ball.

Career-best knock and a One Day Cup statement

His standout innings so far arrived in the County Championship earlier this year, when he struck a career-high first-class score of 90 not out from 117 balls against Middlesex. He has also claimed six first-class wickets for the county.

In the One Day Cup, Ahmed underlined his value as a genuine all-rounder by taking 4-56 and then hitting 48 from 38 balls in a three-wicket win over Northamptonshire.

'We're really keen on investing in him'

Gloucestershire director of cricket Jon Lewis said the new deal reflects the club's belief in the player's development.

"He's put his heart and soul into trying to improve as a cricketer over the past year, and we've seen glimpses of some really good performances from him across the season," Lewis told the club website.

"I think the contract extension shows that we're really keen on investing in him, and we feel there's a future for him here at Gloucestershire."

Ahmed said the commitment was a significant moment for him and his family.

"Gloucestershire is a club that means a lot to me and to my family," he said.

"Growing up in Bristol and having played for the club from a young age, to continue my career here at Gloucestershire is brilliant news, and I'm looking forward to what the next year holds."

Part of a busy spell at the County Ground

The extension continues an active period of squad building for Gloucestershire, who completed a permanent move for Nottinghamshire seamer James Hayes on a two-year deal in September, as reported on 21 September 2026, after two successful loan spells.
