AFC Wimbledon assistant manager Terry Skiverton has been diagnosed with throat cancer and is scheduled to begin treatment in the coming weeks, the League One club has announced.

The club said Skiverton had encountered further health challenges after announcing in July that he would step away from his duties while recovering from ankle surgery.

“Terry has been receiving valuable support from the League Managers Association (LMA) in recent months, and the club will continue to stand alongside him and his family throughout his treatment and recovery,” AFC Wimbledon said.

“Everyone at AFC Wimbledon sends Terry their heartfelt best wishes as he prepares for the next stage of his treatment.”

Skiverton, 51, joined Wimbledon in May 2022 as assistant to Johnnie Jackson. He was part of the coaching staff that helped the club secure promotion to League One through the play-offs in 2025.
