Hailee Steinfeld leaves Josh Allen guessing over ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ role

Hailee Steinfeld has not confirmed whether she will reprise her Marvel role in Avengers: Doomsday—and says Josh Allen is waiting for an answer, too.

Appearing on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Steinfeld said her husband recently called to ask, “Are you in this?” When Fallon pressed her for a definitive response, she replied: “I actually have no idea. Time will tell.”

The uncertainty has fueled fan questions about whether Steinfeld will return as Kate Bishop, the character she played in Marvel’s Hawkeye. The report says she has faced the question since the premiere of Sinners in April 2025, but offers no confirmation that she is part of the upcoming film.

Steinfeld also mentioned meeting Florence Pugh backstage between talk-show appearances. Pugh is confirmed to appear in Avengers: Doomsday as Yelena Belova, but the encounter does not establish that Steinfeld is involved.

Steinfeld’s next film is ‘Hexed’

Steinfeld is set to voice Billie Doe in Disney’s animated feature Hexed, scheduled to reach theaters on November 25. Billie is described as a teenage oddball who discovers she has magical powers. Rashida Jones, Jodie Foster and Walton Goggins are also in the cast.

Steinfeld said at D23 that the film was the first project she had worked on since having her baby. She and Allen welcomed a daughter, Harper Haize, during the offseason, according to the report.

Allen’s Bills remain unbeaten

Allen’s Buffalo Bills moved to 3-0 after a 24-16 win over the Chargers, a game the report says included five turnovers and 10 penalties. Allen appeared to hurt his left knee on a run. Coach Joe Brady said on September 30 that he was not concerned, and Allen was a full participant in practice that day.

Asked whether the couple was superstitious about Buffalo’s start, Steinfeld borrowed a line from The Office: “We’re a little ‘stitious, you know? How can you not be?” The Bills were due to host the New England Patriots in Week 4.
