Brian Schmetzer becomes third-fastest to 150 MLS wins as Sounders beat Minnesota

Sounders match Philadelphia's points record in win over Minnesota

The Seattle Sounders also made their mark on the MLS record books on Saturday, coming out on top with a 3-1 victory over Minnesota United that moved them up to ninth in the Western Conference.

Jordan Morris, Hassani Dotson and Paul Arriola were all on target for Seattle, with Morris's acrobatic 16th-minute finish making him the club's outright top scorer in the regular season with 73 goals.

It was also a historic win for head coach Brian Schmetzer, who became the third-fastest coach to reach 150 wins in MLS history — achieving the feat in 334 games, behind only Bruce Arena and Bob Bradley.

The Sounders' victory also saw them match the Philadelphia Union's haul of 32 points from a 12-game span, the most in any such stretch in league history.
