Ayush Badoni Smashes Career-Best 217 as Delhi Declare on 648/6 Against Gujarat
Delhi captain Ayush Badoni led from the front with a career-best 217 as his side piled on the runs against Gujarat in their Ranji Trophy Elite Group C match at the Palam 'B' ground in New Delhi.
Badoni's commanding knock, his third first-class double century, came off 246 balls and included 22 fours and two sixes. His effort, alongside Priyansh Arya's 199, powered Delhi to a formidable 648/6 declared on Day Two.
Gujarat wobble in reply
In response, Gujarat reached 98/2, with off-spinner Hrithik Shokeen claiming both wickets to give Delhi the upper hand heading into the remainder of the contest.
Badoni's century was the headline act of a dominant batting display, with Arya falling just one run short of a double hundred as Delhi's top order ran the Gujarat attack ragged. The declaration left the hosts with a massive first-innings total to defend and plenty of time to force a result.
