Williams Reveal Special Union Jack-Inspired Livery for British Grand Prix at Silverstone

Williams Racing has pulled out all the stops for their home race weekend, revealing a stunning Union Jack-inspired special livery for the British Grand Prix at Silverstone. The Grove-based team will showcase their British heritage through a distinctive design featuring splashes of red, white, and blue across their FW48 car.

The special livery will be prominently displayed on the nose cone and chassis side of the car, with drivers Alex Albon and Carlos Sainz also sporting matching race suits that complement the patriotic theme. Team members working trackside will don specially designed takeover kits as Williams looks to celebrate their rich history at Silverstone.

Since Frank Williams established the team in 1977, Williams have enjoyed considerable success at their home circuit, winning at Silverstone on eight occasions. The team is set to mark this milestone by looking back on some of their most memorable moments from the British Grand Prix, including their historic 100th victory achieved by Jacques Villeneuve in 1997, as well as crowd favourite Nigel Mansell's three victories at the circuit.

Team Principal James Vowles expressed his excitement about the special weekend, stating: "We are proud to be flying the flag for the British GP this week. From our first win to our 100th, Silverstone has played host to some of Atlassian Williams F1 Team's most iconic moments – and there is nothing on the F1 calendar quite like the atmosphere of the home crowd here."

He added: "Whether watching in the grandstands, supporting at the Fan Zone or cheering us on from home, we really feel the energy of the fans and will be carrying it with us all weekend."

Currently sitting with 11 points in the constructors' championship, Williams will be hoping to add to their tally by returning to the top 10. This comes after Carlos Sainz was unfortunately forced to retire from the recent Austrian Grand Prix, making a strong performance at Silverstone even more crucial for the team.
