Palmowski survives early drama to grab Zandvoort pole

Red Bull Racing's Alisha Palmowski secured a dramatic last-ditch pole position for the F1 ACADEMY Feature Race at Zandvoort, in an eventful Qualifying session that started in the wet and finished in the dry.

The Red Bull Racing driver did not make it easy for herself, taking a trip into the gravel early in the session while under pressure from both Alba Larsen and Ella Lloyd. Yet in the final seconds of the session, she produced a 1:40.911 to top the timesheets and claim the front spot for the Feature Race in Zandvoort.

Larsen just misses out as conditions ramp up

Larsen looked certain to take pole after topping the timesheets for the first half of Qualifying and again inside the final five minutes, but ultimately lost out by a slender 0.864s.

Best-ever qualifying for Granada

Natalia Granada delivered her best-ever Qualifying performance to take third, with Emma Felbermayr forced to settle for fourth and hometown hero Nina Gademan lining up fifth. Rachel Robertson finished sixth, ahead of Zoe Florescu, with the wild card driver posting a lap good enough for P7.

However, the Romanian was subsequently disqualified from Qualifying for a technical breach. As a result, Megan Bruce moves up to seventh and Payton Westcott is promoted to pole for Saturday's Reverse Grid Race.

Williams' Jade Jacquet was classified ninth, while Esmee Kosterman completed the top 10 at her home event.
