1. Norris looking to convert pole

The Sprint went to George Russell on Saturday, but the last Grand Prix in Hungary saw Lando Norris win from pole. Norris now aims for back-to-back Grand Prix victories on a circuit where overtaking is tough.

2. Mercedes front-row lock-out

Russell will start second with Kimi Antonelli third. Track position is paramount at Zandvoort and Mercedes hope their Sprint race pace can be translated into a challenge on Sunday.

3. Ferrari race pace question

Charles Leclerc showed strong race pace in the Sprint on softs, passing Norris late. With Hamilton fifth and Leclerc sixth on the grid, Ferrari will rely on strategy and tyre life to move up.

4. Replacement driver performances

Liam Lawson continues to deputise for Isack Hadjar at Red Bull and qualified eighth, just a tenth behind Max Verstappen. Racing Bulls rookie Arvid Lindblad made Q3 again.

5. Weather and strategy

Cooler temperatures helped grip in Qualifying and rain threatened the end of Q3. With a one-stop likely optimal, the first laps after the start and any late weather will be decisive.
