Virat Kohli makes LinkedIn debut with vision to build Indian sports brands
Kohli sets out ambitions beyond cricket
Virat Kohli has made his debut on LinkedIn, using his first post on the professional networking platform to describe a vision for growing Indian sports businesses and building brands for an international audience.
In the post, published on October 13, Kohli said he hoped to see a country where sports beyond cricket are more widely followed, celebrated and played. He wrote that a new generation of athletes is showing India can produce world-class talent and create brands with global reach.
“I’ve always wanted to see an India where every sport is followed, celebrated, and played. Today, that vision feels closer than ever.”
Kohli described an ambition to build an “end-to-end sports platform from India,” spanning manufacturing, consumer brands and sports distribution. He said India could help shape the future of global sport rather than simply participate in it.
“The vision is clear. It’s time to build something that will outlive all of us,” he wrote.
The Times of India report said the post had received more than 55,000 reactions and nearly 2,000 comments at the time of publication, reflecting interest in Kohli’s plans away from the cricket field.
