Ipswich Town complete double signing of Julio Enciso and Abdoul Ouattara from Strasbourg

Ipswich Town have completed a major double swoop ahead of their Premier League return, securing the signings of forward Julio Enciso and young talent Abdoul Ouattara from French outfit Strasbourg.

Enciso has completed a permanent return to Portman Road in a deal reportedly worth £26m (€30.5m), penning a five-year contract. The 22-year-old Paraguayan international previously spent the second half of the 2024-25 campaign on loan with the Tractor Boys, registering two goals and three assists in 13 top-flight appearances.

Enciso enjoyed a productive campaign in Ligue 1 with Strasbourg last season, directly contributing to 21 goals (12 goals and nine assists)—a tally among his squad bettered only by Joaquin Panichelli's 24 goal involvements.

"I am so happy to be back at Ipswich Town," Enciso said upon sealing his return. "I really enjoyed my time on loan at the club, and I was so happy to see them win promotion back to the Premier League last season. I worked with the manager in France last season, and the chance to play for him again at a great club like Ipswich is one I'm very excited for. I can't wait to see the supporters again."

Joining Enciso in Suffolk is 20-year-old Ouattara, who has also committed his future to Ipswich on a five-year contract. The versatile youngster featured 45 times in all competitions for Strasbourg last term, playing a key role as the club secured an eighth-place Ligue 1 finish and reached the semi-finals of the UEFA Europa Conference League under Gary O'Neil.

Ipswich Town kick off their Premier League campaign on August 22 when they host Sunderland at Portman Road.
